Andrei has graduated from Jacobs University Bremen (until February 2007 known as International University Bremen) on 3rd June 2008, with a degree in Computer Science. His Bachelor thesis was written in the field of Semantic Web ("Extracting an RDF representation from OMDoc"), under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Michael Kohlhase and Ph.D student Christoph Lange.
Andrei is now applying for jobs and graduate programs. His current CV and Statement of interest reflect his future plans and fields of interest.
Past Research
I started my academic project career contributing to the arXMLiv project. Then I worked on OMBase, both in my internship and in my third undergraduate year. Currently Ph.D student Vyacheslav Zholudev is developing a somewhat distinct version (which will replace the aformentioned one).
Teaching Experience
In the 2006/2007 academic year, I was a TA for General Computer Science. The course encompassed most of CS subfield and was intended to emphasize the scientific (rather than engineering) aspect of the discipline. For the university description, see the its first-semester and second-semester parts. I gave tutorials every week to a group of 12 students, graded their homeworks and implicitly was responsible for their success in the course.
I got very enthusiastic about teaching and education in general during my time at Jacobs. I plan to follow through, eventually adapting my future technical positions in this direction.
